Some interesting mechanics here, and I hope the developer keeps working on this, or uses similar mechanics in a future more polished game.I recommend this only if you have a high tolerance for frustration.. It's fun to play. This game is reallly fun.. in the begining and then it gets super stressful. But its really fun to mess with your head and make you think more.. Square hitboxes on round/triangular objects which lead to death when you clearly weren't hit make this a thumbs down review to me. You can't do that in a precision platform and there are far too many instances where you know you didn't collide with an object but you do.. I've personally been addicted to this game from the moment I started playing it to the point where I'm writing my very first Steam review. As such, forgive my lack of structure.It takes a core aspect of game design; innovation via limitation to deliver an experience that is similar to, but unlike anything else I've seen before.Removing the ability to walk, the only way to get around the map is to blitz in one of 4 directions at high speed until colliding with something, only then can you move in another direction. Moving platforms and conveyor belts assist with this a bit more but the absence of a core functionality of platforming suddenly the game into a sort of puzzle/platformer hybrid.I would compare it to the likeness of VVVVVV in terms of traversing the landscape in a new and interesting way, but also Super Meat Boy for the way it rewards you for beating a stage faster, opens warp zones via collectibles and doesn't contain a single checkpoint within a stage. You need to play the stage from start to end without dying and to some this might be a turn-off but if you like a challenge you're definitely going to find one with this game.At only $3 you should expect to spend around 10-15 hours if you're looking to beat the game 100%, but this is entirely dependent on your skill level and patience. One final thing worth noting is that no death in this game is random or unjustified, it's up to you to git gud.. Tight controls and fun levels along with plenty of unlockables skins, secret bonus levels and the like make this worth the price. I was somewhat annoyed by the final level and the boss because there are no checkpoints in an extremely lengthy stage. Gauntlet IX and the final boss took me an hour of the three hours it took me to finish. I'll probably go back to unlock the warp zone bonus stages at some point. Fun and challenging.. I first bought this game on mobile and its a great game! Its so good that I also bought this version and its just as good. Its not in depth and you can tell it was made for mobile but if you got some change to spare then please buy this. Very underrated game.. Little indie gem. Fast and challenging like Super Meat Boy. Good pixel art and chiptunes too.. There is a lot underneath the cover of this bite-sized game. You have essentially 1 main ability. Air dash. You can jump, but it will seldomly help you. The game is fast-paced, has an excellent soundtrack, and main things to unlock and collect. This game is just fun, and sometimes that's all you can ask for.
